About The Everlog
Our lives are measured in moments. A quiet promise, a shared laugh, the echo of a loved one's advice. In a world of fleeting updates and endless feeds, these vital memories can feel adrift, lost to time. Where do our stories go when we let them go?
The Everlog was created to be an anchor. It is a quiet, shared sanctuary in a noisy digital world. Here, a memory is not a temporary post, but a permanent landmark. Each inscription—a star in the cosmos, a stone in a river, a tree in a forest—joins a vast and growing tapestry of our shared human experience.
Contributing to this monument is a single, pure act. It is a gift, not only to your own memory but to the future. Your one-time contribution is an endowment, helping to preserve this collective space for generations to find, explore, and add their own light. It is a promise that these moments, and these stories, will not be forgotten.
Terms of Service
Last updated: September 14, 2025
1) Overview
Welcome to The Everlog (the “Service”), a shared digital monument for short public inscriptions (“Inscriptions”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2) Eligibility
- You must be able to form a legally binding contract in your jurisdiction.
- The Service is not intended for children under 13. If you are 13–17, use it only with a parent/guardian’s consent.
- Do not use the Service where prohibited by law.
3) Accounts & Access
No login is required to submit or view Inscriptions at this time (we may introduce optional accounts later). You are responsible for your device, internet connection, and any charges.
4) Inscriptions & Contributions
4.1 Permanence & Presentation
- Permanence. The conceptual goal is long-term public display and preservation.
- No guarantee of specific display. We may change visualizations or layouts over time (e.g., moving stars/trees/stones, pagination, redesigns).
- Public by default. Inscriptions are publicly viewable; do not include information you do not wish to make public.
4.2 Acceptable Use
You may not submit content that:
- is illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful;
- infringes or misappropriates intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights without permission;
- contains others’ personal data (especially of minors) without consent or includes highly sensitive personal information;
- impersonates any person or entity, or misrepresents your affiliation;
- contains spam, malware, automated scraping, or attempts to overload, disrupt, or probe the Service.
We may moderate, refuse, or remove Inscriptions at any time in our discretion, including to comply with law or protect users and the Service.
4.3 Attribution & Anonymity
You may post anonymously or with a name. If you include a name or other attribution, you represent you have the right to do so. We may display attribution, dates, and visual cues (e.g., reactions) and show your Inscription in one or more themes or curated collections/trails.
4.4 Your License to Us
You retain your rights in your text. By submitting content (“User Content”), you grant Everlog a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, perform, adapt (for formatting/visualization), distribute, and otherwise use the User Content to operate, preserve, promote, and improve the Service (including backups and archives). Where permitted by law, you waive and agree not to assert any moral rights you may have in the User Content.
4.5 Your Representations
You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights necessary to grant the license above, your content complies with these Terms and applicable law, and your content does not infringe others’ rights.
5) Payments & Donations
- Submissions may require a one-time payment to support preservation and operations.
- Payments are processed by Stripe or another third-party processor; their terms and privacy policy apply.
- No refunds except where required by law. If your Inscription is removed for violating these Terms, your payment will not be refunded.
- Contributions are generally not tax-deductible unless explicitly noted.
- You are responsible for any applicable taxes or fees. We may remove associated content if a payment is reversed or charged back.
6) Intellectual Property; Feedback
The Service (software, designs, graphics, branding) is owned by us or our licensors. If you send suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or compensation.
7) Community & Sensitive Content
The Everlog is a memorial-oriented space. Please be respectful. We may add labels or warnings to sensitive content and may remove content that undermines a compassionate environment.
8) Privacy & Data
- Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
- We use third-party infrastructure that may store data in various countries.
- We retain User Content for preservation and archival purposes and may retain logs for security, operations, and legal compliance.
- Because Inscriptions are public and intended for preservation, removal is discretionary. Contact us to request review.
9) Third-Party Services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party services or content; their terms and privacy policies apply.
10) Moderation; Takedowns; Copyright
We may remove or disable access to content alleged to infringe intellectual property or violate law. To report a copyright issue, contact:
11) Service Changes; Availability
We may modify or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee uptime, continuous availability, or that content will be displayed in a particular way or for any specific duration.
12) Security
We implement reasonable safeguards but no system is perfectly secure. Report vulnerabilities to support@everloggers.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to remediate.
13) Prohibited Conduct (Non-Exhaustive)
- Violating these Terms or any applicable law;
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service, introducing malware, or attempting unauthorized access;
- Scraping, harvesting, or bulk downloading content except as permitted by robots.txt or our written permission;
- Using the Service to train, test, or improve models or datasets without our express consent;
- Reselling, sublicensing, or commercially exploiting the Service except as expressly permitted.
14) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
15) Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL EVERLOG OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) US$100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE TRANSACTION GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
16) Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Everlog and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
17) Termination & Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, including for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or harms the Service or other users. Upon termination, the license you granted for already-submitted User Content survives to support preservation and archival purposes.
18) Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises, contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If a dispute proceeds, it will be resolved under applicable law by a court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits either party’s ability to seek equitable relief.
19) Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. Changes apply prospectively. We will post the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
20) Miscellaneous

- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them.
- No Waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Force Majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control.
